I need customizations with SmartSuite-M Mobile Attendance Software? Is it possible to have the same? Can I have different working modules with the same?
We have been receiving many similar inquiries from last few days. We would again like to let you know that SmartSuite-M is the mobile version of the smartsuite software. We aren’t providing anything different or special with the mobile version of the software. The modules seen in the SmartSuite-M mobile attendance app is same as those in the SmartSuite Software, the web based attendance software. The app synchronizes itself with the pc version of the smartsuite software and on the basis of the synchronization, the changes are finally reflected in the main software.
Prior to any further customization in the mobile attendance app, it is required to have those customizations first with the main attendance software, smartsuite software for PC. Any addition or change which is implemented with the pc version of the smartsuite software makes it possible for the developers to implement the same in the mobile version of the software. It isn’t possible to provide anything or any feature extra in the mobile application except those which you see with the main software.
Any further scope for customization with the mobile attendance application is presently ruled out. But still, our team has been busy working out on this limitation and hopefully, it should become possible to provide things as required in the times to come. For the time being, our mobile attendance app is available with limited features or say modules which anyone can download and test it on the supported android platform. The product will soon be available for all other popular mobile platforms.

As we had spoken about it in our last post, we have launched the mobile application for the smartsuite software. SmartSuite-M is the mobile version of the popular smartSuite software, a web based time attendance software. SmartSuite-M is currently available for Android platform. Few things to know here. Once you have download the SmartSuite-M Android App, you can simply install and run it on your android device. The app can be tested with the demo account. The demo account shows modules as seen in the main smartsuite software. The modules are limited at present. The app will be integrated with all required modules in the times to come. The demo account does not require you to be registered with the same. If you want to use the app with your own smartsuite account as a registered account, you first have to install the main smartsuite software at your end. Once it is installed then you have to update your smartsuite installation folder with a file which is required to make your android app running without any problem. The file has to be copied to the main installation folder of the smartsuite software. Now, the file is not available to the user as such. In order to receive the file, the user must send a request for the same at this email id – email@example.com. Once the request is received for the same, the technical team will do the needful from here..!

BioEnable has launched a mobile based attendance management application named SmartSuite-M. SmartSuite-M is the mobile version of our attendance management software, SmartSuite Software. SmartSuite-M is still in the development stage. BioEnable Team is working on the same from last few months and very soon, the product will be launched with full fledged features. SmartSuite Software is available under two licenses – free demo license and paid license. The free demo license is available free to download for users to try out and see before paid license in purchased. As you must have already seen on our website, the demo license is limited to few users, 5 users/employees to be more specific. Additional users are not supported in the demo version. In case, if you need support for more users in the software you need to purchase the paid version of the software which is similar to the demo version but has a support for more/required number of users/employees.
The paid licensed version of the SmartSuite Software is available under varied pricing. The pricing is based on the number of users/employees which again is further categorized into various slabs (total number of users) – 100, 200, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, etc… The minimum purchase license starts from 100 users which if required can also be considered to 50 users finally. We do not sell software license below that number of users. Also, the pricing is the standard pricing of the software excluding charges for installation, implementation and Taxes. Separate charges are made for installation and implementation of the software. Also, in case if any further customization is required in the software, additional charges are made for the same. No charges are levied for minor customizations. It may take a week to months to provide customizations as required.
Also, there have been occasional inquiries made for software to have a support for unlimited users/employees. Unlimited users license is generally preferred by those individuals/companies wish to re-engineer our product as per their requirement so that they can finally use it for themselves or resell it in the market. We would like to let you know that we do not allow reselling of our software. Instead, we sell it directly to the end users. Even if then you are interested in reselling, you can send us your inquiry for the same. SmartSuite Software is a web based application with an open source structure. It employs PHP as the core technology behind its development. To power its database needs, it uses one of the world’s most popular database management system, MySQL. MySQL is a popular choice of database for use in web applications, and is a central component of the widely used LAMP web application software stack— LAMP is an acronym for “Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/PHP/Python”.
Now, apart from the support for MySql databases, we also provide support for other databases like those in Oracle and MSSQL. Very recently, we had an inquiry from someone asking for the software but with the database backened in Oracle. SmartSuite Software does have everything what people seek to see in a typical attendance software. We have been making sure that it turns out to be the best online attendance management system or say, human resource management system for your organization. Having been equipped with all necessary HR modules, smartsuite is most likely to fulfill your needs for a robust online attendance management system. But inspite of being feature rich, smartsuite isn’t free from limitation.
The biggest limitation which this software has is the absence of payroll management system. Yes..we don’t have it yet. An integrated payroll management system in the smartsuite software, is what people have been inquiring to us in recent times. We have been saying “NO” to most of them while there have been few cases where we have been finding alternative for the same. This is mostly because we have felt that organizations do really need it. As an alternative to a typical payroll module in the attendance software, we have been requesting our clients to go for an integration with their existing payroll application which they must be using or have any plan to purchase in the near future.
The integration enables any desktop/web based payroll applications to be easily integrated with our smartsuite software which then can be used to generate payroll for the employees on the basis of attendance records. We have been offering such solutions to our clients in recent times and most of the times they have agreed to go for the same and the best of all, it has really worked out well. Most of the third party payroll applications have been integrated with our attendance software.
So for those who seem to be worried about the payroll and related requirements, you must be glad to know that we now have been able to solve this problem and no longer, it is compulsory to have an integrated payroll module in the attendance software. Though still we have decided to come up with the same in the near future. Future releases of smartsuite software is likely to have an integrated payroll system. We are working on it and hopefully, we shall have it very soon in our attendance software.
This again is a very common query from those who have placed inquiries for smartsuite software. LDAP which stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol is currently not supported with the smartsuite software. But it doesn’t mean that we cannot provide the same with our software. As most of you must be knowing that the smartsuite software is open to customization and so having support for LDAP is quite possible and we can surely provide the same once you have ordered your license with support for LDAP as one of the major requirements.
Now to tell you more about the LDAP, LDAP is basically an internet protocol which is used by email and other programs to look up for an information from a server. This information can be anything from email address to name, age, location, etc… LDAP is particularly useful in cases where you want to seek specific information from a server. Say for example, finding the address of someone who has never ever sent you an email. Apart from seeking information about people and other related details, LDAP can also be used to look up encryption certificates, pointers to printers and other services on a network, and provide “single signon” where one password for a user is shared between many services. LDAP is appropriate for any kind of directory-like information, where fast lookups and less-frequent updates are the norm.
LDAP is supported by most of the email clients and mailing programs other than web based mailing clients do have a support for LDAP. Most LDAP clients can read from a server though writing and updating information is limited to only few clients. LDAP does not include security or encryption, so updates usually require additional protection such as an encrypted SSL connection to the LDAP server.

Yes…SmartSuite Software is supported to run on Linux Operating System. We have been receiving queries on the same from some people who have doubted smartsuite software compatibility with the linux operating system. The very first thing you must know is that SmartSuite Software is an open source application. Being an open source application, it is supported to run on any operating system, at present runs well on both windows and linux operating system.
The installation of smartsuite software on Linux is very similar to what we perform on Windows based operating system. The only difference lies with the file system where unlike windows there is no executable file as such. So, instead of clicking on the setup and moving ahead with the installation, you have to manually place all required installation files in the www directory of linux operating system. The default location for www directory is –
Incase if you are unable to locate the same, you can type in the required command in the linux console to find the same. The default command for the same is -
Using ‘locate’ command, you can make a quick search for any directory which is located under Linux OS. The locate command is often the simplest and quickest way to find the locations of files and directories on Linux and other Unix-like operating systems.
The basic syntax for locate is:
locate [options] name(s)
When used without any options, locate displays every absolute pathname for which the user has access permission that contains any of the names of files and/or directories that are provided to it as arguments (i.e., input data).
Once you have copied your smartsuite installation files and folders to the WWW directory of your Linux OS, you can then follow the same installation steps as being carried out while installing the smartsuite software on Windows OS. Type in the following in your linux browser address bar –
and then move on till your installation gets completed.
You can follow smartsuite installation instructions from the pdf manual which is supplied with smartsuite installation package. Also, please make sure you are connected to the internet before installing the software. Once you have followed all of the above instructions and the instructions in the manual correctly, you should be able to install smartsuite software on your system easily without any problem..!
