Does SmartSuite Software come with Integrated Payroll System ?

SmartSuite Software does have everything what people seek to see in a typical attendance software. We have been making sure that it turns out to be the best online attendance management system or say, human resource management system for your organization. Having been equipped with all necessary HR modules, smartsuite is most likely to fulfill your needs for a robust online attendance management system. But inspite of being feature rich, smartsuite isn’t free from limitation.

The biggest limitation which this software has is the absence of payroll management system. Yes..we don’t have it yet. An integrated payroll management system in the smartsuite software, is what people have been inquiring to us in recent times. We have been saying “NO” to most of them while there have been few cases where we have been finding alternative for the same. This is mostly because we have felt that organizations do really need it. As an alternative to a typical payroll module in the attendance software, we have been requesting our clients to go for an integration with their existing payroll application which they must be using or have any plan to purchase in the near future.

The integration enables any desktop/web based payroll applications to be easily integrated with our smartsuite software which then can be used to generate payroll for the employees on the basis of attendance records. We have been offering such solutions to our clients in recent times and most of the times they have agreed to go for the same and the best of all, it has really worked out well. Most of the third party payroll applications have been integrated with our attendance software.

So for those who seem to be worried about the payroll and related requirements, you must be glad to know that we now have been able to solve this problem and no longer, it is compulsory to have an integrated payroll module in the attendance software. Though still we have decided to come up with the same in the near future. Future releases of smartsuite software is likely to have an integrated payroll system. We are working on it and hopefully, we shall have it very soon in our attendance software.

In our last post, we had seen what a payroll is and why organizations go for the same. We had covered all basics related to the same. In this post today, we will be knowing the basics of an outsourced payroll service. To sum up, Payroll services can really benefit business owners by keeping them free from payroll responsibilities and making them concentrate more on other aspects of running their business. Though very useful, payroll services can still be very expensive, especially with the addition of more and more employees in the company.

Download Web based Time Attendance Software, SmartSuite Software version 2.7.1

BioEnable SmartSuite Software has been upgraded to a new version. The new version comes with some major updates. The new edition of the smartsuite software has a complete attendance approval system along with few more changes in the existing leave management system. Also, few more additions have been made to the existing employees module.

In our earlier versions, the attendance system had one major loophole. It was seen that most of the employees avoided punching in/out to the attendance machine while they were late/early in the office. Instead attendance was recorded manually by logging into the smartsuite system and filling in the incorrect details related to arrival/leave time. And since there was no such approval process to validate the attendance, it was getting common with the employees who came late, to go for the same method. No doubt, companies have to bear major loss because of the same. Late arrivals followed up with unapproved attendance can hinder organizational growth as in such cases, employees tend to be less productive.

New Attendance Approval System

To deal with the same situation as mentioned above, this newest version of the smartsuite software comes along with an attendance approval system to keep a check on fake manual logs. The basic idea here is to monitor those employees who could easily put in incorrect details of their attendance manually while leaving other preferred option to register their attendance by punching in/out to the attendance device. New Employee Dashboard

Along with the revamped attendance approval system, the new version of the smartsuite also comes with an improved employee dashboard where all details related to employees can be accessed by a single click. Now, you can download and test out the fully functional business version of the BioEnable SmartSuite Software. This business version is available for evaluation purpose only. Unlike the community version, this evaluation comes packed with all features but yes, it has certain user limitations. The Evaluation version of the SmartSuite Software cannot be used for more than 5 users/employees. Once the maximum user limit is reached, any further record cannot be added.

The Evaluation version can be used by individuals, companies or organizations to test out all available features of the SmartSuite Software including the import feature. The import feature allows logs from the supported hardware to be imported to the SmartSuite Software. This can be done either manually or can be automated. The automation gets possible after integration of the available time attendance device with the SmartSuite Software. The integration of the supported hardware with the software is done using a php script and the script currently works with MSQL databases and MS Access databases. There is no support for Oracle at present.

The community version on the other hand, has limited features. Also, there is no option available to import logs into the software. You can still test it out and use it for any number of users. The community version does not come up with any user restriction as such. It is thus a good choice in case you are managing a small company/organization with 20-50 employee/user strength. But anyways, you are still missing the Import Feature, one of the most important and must have feature with this software.

Time Management Tips for Increasing Productivity

Managing your time and using it wisely is a journey, and not something that can be easily mastered overnight. Implementing a plan will help, but it is not going to be a sure cure. Time management requires a significant amount of self-discipline.

Here are some tips to assist you with time management…


1. Set Goals

Set both short-term and long-term goals for your work day, work week, and work year. While it may seem silly, take the time to make a written list of your goals, which will allow you to refer back to the list when you need some guidance. Keep in mind that it is okay to adjust the goals as your business needs or your role changes. Use them as a tool to guide you.

2. Mini-Rewards

All work an no play is a difficult concept to sustain for very long. Build rewards into your schedule. If there is a task you really dislike, follow it with a task that you greatly enjoy. Build “mini-rewards” into your schedule to increase your productivity.

3. Keep Lists

Keep a running “To Do” list. The To Do list should contain both daily tasks as well as longer-term tasks. Having a To Do list will help keep your attention on the projects that require attention, and prevent some items from slipping through the cracks and being forgotten.

4. Be Realistic

Keep your expectations realistic. No one can do everything, and with that it mind, try to set realistic expectations of what you can hope to accomplish.

5. Prioritize

Prioritize the list of things to do. Some items might require immediate attention, while others may be necessary but not as urgent. And after prioritizing, try not to become a “firefighter” and only react to the urgent items. Be sure to still give proper attention to non-urgent items as well, as they are important too.

6. Use Time Wisely

If there are blocks of time that you spend waiting or commuting, figure out ways to use that time being productive! Listening to podcasts, reading, writing, proof-reading, reviewing your schedule, planning for your next activity, etc, are all things that can usually be done remotely to fill in some of the unavoidable “dead” time in your schedule. Try to find interesting and unusual productive things to do during those periods of downtime.

7. Set Limits

Set reasonable time limits for tasks. When working on those tasks, monitor the time that each item is taking.

8. Organize Work Space

Organize your work space, and remove any excessive clutter. Spending time looking for something is a waste of time… and time is a precious commodity. Both your computer files and your physical working area should be organized so that you can easily locate anything you need in a moments notice.

9. Minimize Distractions

If you find yourself consumed by social media, facebook, instant messaging, or other social mediums, set aside a specific and timed period of the day for participating in the online social community. Other than those specific periods of time, set your status to “unavailable” so that you are not interrupted throughout the work day. Minimize interruptions and distractions as much as possible.

10. Reflect

At the end of the day, reflect on what you accomplished. If you were unable to account for a specific period of time, or you found a given day to be particularly unproductive, take an inventory and try to determine where your time management system broke down.

Keep in mind that not every day is going to be as productive as you would hope. Unexpected things always come up, and no matter how hard you try, your expectations just might not be realistic. Do not become discouraged. Instead, simply stay focused and make an effort to increase your productivity the next day.

To install SmartSuite on your Server Please follow steps:

1. You should have WAMP installed on your local server.
A) The basic requirements of Running SmartSuite are:

·OS: Any Windows/Linux. MacOS (possible but not tested).

·WebServer:Can work with all webservers that support PHP5 like Apache, IIS, Nninx, lighttp etc.
·Database: MySQL Database 5.0 or above (Free database available for wide range of OS)

B)Download and install XAMPP or WAMP (visit wampserver.com or www.apachefriends.org)

C)Follow link http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php to download WAMP.

D) Install WAMP on your local server.

2. After installing WAMP you should make sure that you make WAMP server online.

3. Then download SmartSuite.To download click here

4. Unzip SmartSuite folder in to your WAMP server  i.e. C:\wamp\www\

5. After that go to your web browser and type  http://localhost/<foldername>/install  .

In case you plan to install Smartsuite on existing server with MySQL Database shared with other applications, please note the following:

“The Smartsuite MySQL database use Triggers (advanced feature in MySQL) for faster processing of data and hence all Installation & Upgrade must be done with root user or superuser with ALL Privledges including GRANT & REVOKE”
